McLaughlin Pride

It was important to capture the McLaughlins as a proud family of 3 before they ascended to a proud family of 4.  (Very soon!)

Little AJ is almost a year old and just the most laid back & pleasant handsome little guy.

The family enjoys the outdoors and hiking and although they would have ideally had planned for a majority of outdoor photographs we kept our expectations low on cooperative winter weather.  Boy did Mother Nature lend an unexpected helping hand... it was a rare gorgeous day for mid January and we got a short & sweet handful of lovely outdoor shots in... yay!

Enjoy your sneak peeks & stay warm & dry!

The Baines

You are never too young to get all dolled up to go out and dance...

Who says a perfect family portrait has to be all smiles?

Sometimes all you need is that look to melt your insides.

Some images are psychic and can tell the future...

Is there room for 1 more?

You'd smile too if you were lying butt naked on a bed of soft fur...  (psst... it's faux)

You will be missed by many while you are settling in Czech Republic, they are lucky to have such awesome Americans in their midst.  Enjoy every minute of it!  And I hope you enjoy these previews.

Fashion & Fun with BFF's Amy & Erika

I got a surprise treat for the end of 2009 with a ridiculously fun session with longtime best friends Amy & Erika.  Both in college now they have stayed best friends despite distances ever since childhood and still get together a few times a year to stir up trouble and make some new memories.  Hopefully this session will serve as one of their college time highlights =)

They came in with an armful of adorable outfits and shoes, fun & fierce attitudes and a fashion runway (or groove in the car with your friends) playlist that we blasted in the studio.

They wanted some drama and shots with a high fashion feel.  I made a recipe of a few different lighting setups, dusted off my ringflash and so the collection of lovely begins...

Above 2 done with a studio ringflash notice the cool halos.

Girls & their shoes...

I coaxed them into trying the masks...

So with the Holiday Season wrapped up I gave my studio a few new gifts. 2 being new backgrounds that I have been wanting to add for a while now.  Grey and Red, and OMG do they look and photograph even more awesome than I had ever anticipated...

They girls seriously rocked my eyeballs out, their natural and super fierce posing has left me here craving more...  Enjoy your back to school treats you lovely ladies =)

And Happy New Year to the rest of you all!

Christmas Magic at the Hanna's

We have been following our angelic little V.I.B. (Very Important Baby) Mira around for 9 months now to capture her adorably changing 1st Year Milestones.  And for this milestone it is all about her and her big bro Alex enjoying the Christmas spirit in their GORGEOUSLY decorated home!

V.I.M.ommy Tracy transforms their home into a magical Christmas Wonderland every year so just seemed perfect to do this Baby's 1st Year Milestones session in the midst of all the loving sparkle.

Alex showed off to me some of his favorite things in his stylishly rugged bedroom.  On his Christmas tree was an awesome Darth Vader ornament.  (Love Star Wars!  The original series that is...)

Mira's gorgeous nursery in soft pink and decorated with favorite portraits from her debut baby session, love it!!!  She even has her own white and pink Christmas tree, so cute...

Enjoy and a Merry Christmas and Holiday Season to all!

Playdate at Paulus Farm's Christmas Cabin

With Leilani taking a winter break from preschool and me being swamped in work, we really needed a day out to do some socializing and playing.  So we met up with a wonderful group of Mom's and their adorable kids for a playdate at Paulus Farm's Christmas Cabin in Mechanicsburg.

This is a great place to get fresh local produce and delicious homestyle delights.  But for children and their parents it is an awesome place to spend a few hours to play!  They turn a greenhouse into a fun playground and have neat farm animals to watch and pet.  All just for only $2!

Here are some photos from the day.  The light is always amazing in the greenhouse and so I brought the camera.  And since this day was for fun and not work, no retouching was necessary for this set of fun snapshots.

Gracie in the much loved box of corn.  It is amazing how long a box of corn can keep children busy.  In the fall they also have a box of soy beans.  Such a great alternative to the messy sand box.  We eventually had to remind the kids that there were a lot of other things to play with in addition to the corn.

Handsome Elijah in a super cute knit hat.

6 months old and already a sharp dresser.

Hay!

Maddy & her big brown eyes.

Gracie & Leilani looking like BFF's.  So cute...

So the farm has these 2 ridiculously cute 1 year old Scottish Highland Calves.  I spoke with a woman who was related to the owners of the farm about them and she led me in on a cute story.  They named the smallest calf Braveheart and here is why.  When the movie Braveheart was made the people of Scotland thought the fact Mel Gibson played the role was ridiculous because Braveheart was supposed to be a physically giant figure and Mel was so tiny in comparison.  So they named the smallest calf Braveheart in the honor of that story.

Braveheart was very friendly and Leilani got to pet him and touch his horn.

Back to the corn again...

My silly silly girl...  Love you!
